The move is over, but I still don’t feel like I’ve fully grasped the fact that I no longer live at my old house. In fact, every day before I go to work I keep trying to take my overnight bag with me.
I guess after two years of lugging that bag back and forth between houses it’s understandable that it would be a tough habit to break…but it’s probably time to go ahead and put it away for a while.
On top of the move (which made for quite the busy weekend), things have been hectic all around. I still have this to contend with:
Ugh. Unpacking.
And I’m busy keeping up with all that goes along with the 28 Day Detox Challenge (more on that later! peek at Emily’s post in the meantime for links to lots of other blog goodness)…
And I have this stack to work through:
I suppose work might be the wrong word for that pile. After ages of not really being sucked into any books, I’m suddenly reading like crazy again. Sam recommended the Outlander series to me (affiliate link, in case you care to support my book habit), and I went into it thinking I wouldn’t really be a fan. Historical fiction/romance? Meh. I was completely wrong about it and am now totally emotionally invested. Some of the content is a bit intense (and some is even kind of upsetting), but I’m in love with the characters and I’m constantly thinking about the book when I’m not reading it. In a sense, it really is creating a lot of work for me, since I now have a tendency to put everything important aside in order to make room for lots of reading time…whoops!
On top of all of this madness, I’m working on moving The Gravy Boat to Wordpress (it’s currently Drupal-based, but I want some of the Wordpress bells and whistles so we’re working on shifting it over before it becomes even trickier than it already is). So you can look forward to that fun…someday.
We’re off to go celebrate Mother’s Day with Nathan’s family (my family is at work today—along with most other holidays—so our celebration will be rather belated as per usual) and enjoy the gorgeous weather at least a little. Have a lovely Sunday!
