I love the responses I got from my previous post on choosing themes for the new year! So many great words, from alive to flower to balance. Hearing what everyone else has in store for the year definitely keeps me motivated.
I’ve made a few small steps towards my goal of flourishing in 2011. So far I’ve:
- Started training for a 10k! This will be my first race ever, and I’m totally not confident in my running abilities. I attempted the Couch to 5k program a while back and got about five weeks in before I decided it was too hot out to run anymore, so I dropped it. I really liked the program, though, so that was motivating enough to get me to attempt something bigger. I’m only a week into the training and already a bit nervous about taking it on…
- Worked with Emily to begin expanding the Healthy Spirit Wellness programs for this year. We’ve already started outlining a really neat teleclass series that should begin in the next month or so, as well as a group program for the late spring/early summer. Keep an eye out for more details soon!
It’s exciting to see things underway already! That said, I also know that I’m only ten days into the new year, so keeping my momentum and enthusiasm up after the novelty wears off is where the adventure will really begin…
What steps have you taken towards any goals you set for 2011?
Also, have you popped over to Emily’s blog to enter our giveaway yet? You can enter until Saturday and then all four winners will be announced on the 18th! Not totally sure if you’d want to win a free health coaching session or teleclass recording? (though I’m pretty sure you do…). Take a look at the About Health Coaching page to learn more (and to see a video of me so you know who you’d be talking to if you won that free phone coaching session!).

Thank you for posting this! I
Thank you for posting this! I needed the reminder to keep my theme for 2011 a the forefront of my mind. I decided the best word to describe my theme is "embrace". I would like to embrace what life brings rather than trying to plan everything out (this sets me up for disappointment when things don't go as planned). I like these song lyrics too, "it's not having what you want, it's wanting what you have." I'd like to work on going with the flow and embracing every situation as it comes.
Awesome ideas! I think
Loved your Cake and Carrots
Loved your Cake and Carrots post. My main 2011 goals are to make 1 new recipe a week, get on top of my finances and run a few half marathons. I blogged about them "doomed resolutions and how to fix them" on my site.
I'm glad you liked the Cake &
